2016 FARM CARD
What is a Farm Card?
Our goal with this program is to give the farmer the planning power of a CSA Membership base, while giving you the flexibility of a Farmers Market! A Farm Card is simply a Gift Card -- a Pre-Paid amount that you can use at any point during the season to shop at our booth at the farmers market, to u-pick berries, or pick the perfect pumpkin in the fall.
Instead of a traditional CSA membership where the farmer chooses what produce you receive each week, a person with a Farm Card has complete control over what produce they receive. You will still pre-purchase your farm share early in the season, thus giving the farmers the time and investment needed to plant the crops to bring to market.
While the farmers will estimate that you will ‘spend’ a given amount each week how much produce you actually pick out is up to you! Going on vacation one week? No problem – just don’t pick up any produce that week. Have company in town next weekend? Pick up some extra!
There are 2 options for the farm card:
$100 card: You pay $100 and receive a card valued at $105 (5% extra)
$300 card: You pay $300 and receive a card valued at $330 (10% extra)

Benefits of the Farm Card for You:
- Local & Organic: Pigmans is a local family operated, Organic Farm. - Quality: Produce is picked within 24 hours of delivery. - Flexibility: You choose how much produce you want each week. You can skip a week and get more the next – completely up to you. - Control: You pick what you want – no more getting too much corn or not enough broccoli, the quantity and variety is up to you! - Less waste: The farmer knows about how much to plant and how much to harvest. |
How does this differ from a CSA?
- a CSA is either $370 for a small share or $615 for a large share. No other options are available. The farm card is flexible and you can add to the card during the season if you find yourself purchasing more than you expected. - in a CSA the farmer chooses what you get each week and how much of each item you receive. With the Farm card YOU choose what produce you want each week and how much. If you are gone for a week you don't have to worry about finding someone to pick up your bag for you. - Your Farm card can be used to purchase bulk items for canning or freezing. Beets, pickling cucumbers, beans and cabbage can all be pre-ordered and delivered to you. - The cards can also be used for u-pick berries in the spring, or pumpkins in the fall. |
